What we're looking for…                        

Under general supervision of Sr. Engineers, the intern will complete a variety of assignments to provide general support to the Engineering, Maintenance, and Production teams.  Assignments will make a positive contribution to Oatey as well as provide the student with “hands-on” work experience. 

Expectations & Accountabilities…

  • Assist Engineers with the preparation of project records, documentation and paperwork. 
  • Participate in product design projects including preparation of project forms and documentation, design specification and implementation. 
  • Assists the engineers in the provision of technical support to sales, manufacturing, purchasing, quality and customer service.
  • Use computer aided drafting systems to prepare drawings and documentation related to specific engineering projects. 
  • Create Solidworks computer models to predict material behavior in injection molds and other machines. 
  • Create bills of materials, material specifications and processes specific to a project.
  • Work with cross functional teams in the development of new products and processes. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you’ll need to be successful…

  • Education and Certification: Enrolled in an undergraduate engineering program with completion of at least four (4) semesters.
  • Ability to analyze current operational processes, identify inefficiencies, and facilitate change to reduce downtime, minimize scrap, and optimize overall performance
  • Excellent analysis skills.
  • Experience working with Excel and other Microsoft applications.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated high initiative.
