What we’re looking for…
A team member who will drive quality performance to a higher level through employing applicable quality processes and tools. This associate will assist in the development of quality metrics to monitor quality levels, identify areas of improvement and implement effective solutions.

Expectations & Accountabilities…

  • APQP / Product Launch Support: Support manufacturing operations to launch new products and processes. Work with Corporate and site level Engineering teams to define pre-launch requirements and communicate plant capabilities.
  • Internal PPAP submissions and approvals: Submit PPAP’s to Corporate Engineering and coordinate manufacturing production demonstration runs. Coordinate Golden Sample production and establish acceptance criteria for new products. Approve internal PPAPs for Engineering Changes (ECN) and new or refurbished tooling.
  • ECN Support and Manufacturing Implementation: Coordinate Corporate ECN system with plant implementation and planning efforts, including process validation and product verification.
  • Support Management of Change system coordination (MOC): Monitor plant MOC’s and coordinate activities to drive changes to completion and full implementation.
  • Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) & Control Plans: Lead cross-functional team to generate and review PFMEA’s. Work with Manufacturing and Process Engineers to develop and maintain control plans for manufacturing processes and conduct control plan audits to verify compliance.
  • QMS Auditor: Conduct internal audits to Oatey’s Quality Management System.
  • Manage Gage Calibration System.
  • Create Inspection Plants for production runs.
  • Perform part layouts and capability studies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you’ll need to be successful…

  • Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Operations or equivalent field experience.
  • Basic knowledge of quality and quality management processes (APQP, Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis, MSA, PPAP, SPC tools, Root Cause Analysis, etc.).
  • Ability to interpret Engineering Drawings and Specifications.
  • Experience with operating quality measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, height gages, Structured Light Scanning, Coordinate Measuring Machine - CMM, optical comparator, etc.).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint), ERP (Enterprise Resource Panning) software, and web-based tools.
  • Communication Skills: demonstrated ability to develop, synthesize, and present material orally and in writing in an articulate and concise manner. Stand-up presentation skills. Demonstrated ability to listen to and process other’s point of view.
  • Experience in formal quality processes such as ISO, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other well- developed continuous improvement programs.

Experience that will set you apart….

  • ASQ Quality Engineer certification or AIAG training.
  • CMM programming experience.
  • GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerances) experience.
  • SolidWorks experience.
  • Industry experience with multiple types of material processing (Plastic Injection Molding, Metal Stamping, Metal Forming, chemical processing, assembly).
