What we’re looking for…

The Vice President, Retail will contribute to Oatey’s success by leading Oatey’s retail strategy and business planning. The individual will be responsible for leading all aspects of Oatey’s retail division, including overseeing daily sales activities, managing the sales team, managing the budget, developing plans and strategies to grow sales and improve profits and negotiating customer programs that align to Oatey Co goals. The role requires strong partnership with key leaders and functions across the company such as retail channel, e-commerce, supply chain, distribution, manufacturing, and brand management. The candidate should have an in-depth knowledge of the Home Improvement market. 

Expectations & Accountabilities …

  • Plan, budget, and manage Oatey strategies and business goals for the retail division, ensuring growth and profitability.
  • Manage the retail sales organization and staff to ensure continuous improvement and effectiveness and financial viability, and to provide professional and personal growth opportunities.  Introduce and implement best practices to support team process and optimization.
  • Manage Retail budgets for all brands sold in retail.
  • Collaborate with retail channel team on new product launches, product pricing, profitability and product mix.
  • Collaborate with supply chain and manufacturing to ensure customer and Oatey needs and goals are being met.
  • Work closely with e-commerce management to ensure omni-channel satisfaction.
  • Negotiate pricing and other business contracts with sales team.
  • Prepare and manage annual forecast.
  • Participate in sales and operations planning.
  • Communicate to all staff, sales reps, marketing, and executive leadership information regarding new products, price increases and decreases, legislative changes, and general information.

What you’ll need to be successful…

  • Minimum of 7 years in Home Improvement Industry – must have Home Depot and Lowes experience.
  • Must have experience successfully negotiating customer programs in the lead position.
  • Rough Plumbing/Rough electrical department experience preferred, not required.
  • Must have strong knowledge in math, writing skills, and basic contract understanding.
  • Travel 30% of time.
  • Potential to live in Cleveland, Farmington (CT), Atlanta, Charlotte or Chicago. Cleveland is preferred location.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required or equivalent, relevant experience in lieu of degree.
