What we’re looking for…                                                                                                

This position is responsible to improve and develop machines, tools, equipment, and processes, for effective and efficient production while ensuring that safety, quality, and productivity goals can be achieved daily. This position supports the leadership and skill development of the manufacturing technical teams including but not limited to injection molding processors, technicians servicing tooling and industrial maintenance teams, if applicable.

Expectations & Accountabilities…

  • Develop and implement goals, objectives, and priorities for Manufacturing technical needs on an ongoing basis.
  • Identify resource needs and recommend and implement policies and procedures as needed. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports to streamline processes within manufacturing.
  • Investigate equipment failures and performance issues to diagnose faulty operation and make recommendations to maintenance for resolution.
  • Understand potential chemical reactions and chemical compatibilities for new and existing processes.
  • Develop and execute tooling design, build, and maintenance plans.
  • Working knowledge of basic automated manufacturing machine elements including pneumatics, hydraulics, PLC’s, switches, etc.
  • Collaborate with associates and leadership to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.
  • Estimate costs and submit bids for engineering, construction and extraction projects and prepare contract documents.
  • Prioritize project requests with manufacturing leadership and other internal customers. Research and analyze design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
  • Write performance requirements for new/modified production processes.
  • Apply lean and continuous improvement management principles throughout the department’s daily activities Drive the SQDC model of excellence in the facility by using Lean and 6-Sigma methods.
  • Establish and maintain a working environment conducive to positive morale, individual style, quality, creativity, and teamwork. Flexible work schedule to include coordination of 24-hour on-call service to manufacturing maintenance and off-shift problem resolution.

What you’ll need to be successful…

  • 5+ years of experience working as a Manufacturing Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications
  • Experience as part of a self-directed work team.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including listening, coaching, and conflict resolution.
  • Familiarity with and prior utilization of continuous improvement manufacturing concepts, including lean and Six Sigma methodology. Working knowledge of all applicable OSHA standards including lockout/tag out, confined spaces, blood borne pathogens, machine guarding, hazardous communication, PPE, etc.
  • Experience working around flammable environments and have knowledge of NFPM.
  • Familiarity with FMEA
  • Demonstrated experience, knowledge, and skills of Chemical/Mechanical manufacturing processing.
  • Experience in preparing project scope assessments, capital plan authorization, vendor assessments/selection, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience leading high performing teams to optimize efficiency and performance of high-speed manufacturing processes.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required / Associate's Degree with exceptional experience considered.

Experience that will set you apart….

  • Demonstrated basic knowledge working with 3D modeling/drawing (Ex. SOLIDWORKS).
