Position Summary:
The National Retail Sales Manager is a dynamic and results-driven position which leads and grows Oatey's hardware retail channel across the U.S. This position is responsible for developing and executing strategic sales initiatives, managing key national and regional accounts, and identifying growth opportunities.
Position Responsibilities:
Develop and execute national retail sales strategies focused on the hardware channel to achieve revenue, profit, and growth targets.
Act as the sales lead for major national retail hardware accounts. Develop, present, and recommend competitive opportunities for customers.
Manage and expand relationships with key national and regional hardware retailers.
Partner with internal teams including marketing, product development, and supply chain to deliver value-added solutions to retail partners.
Lead associated rep groups to ensure alignment with national sales goals.
Analyze market trends, customer data, and competitor activity to identify new business opportunities.
Develop promotional plans and merchandising strategies tailored to hardware retail environments.
Monitor performance metrics, prepare sales reports, and present findings to leadership.
Anticipate customer needs and proactively address those needs.
Represent Oatey at industry trade shows, customer meetings, and retail events.
Communicate and resolve trends and/or individual account needs within the supply chain.
Ability to travel 20% of the time, including willingness to travel on the weekends for events such as customer trade shows.
Ability to support customer base predominantly in in IL and IN.
Knowledge and Experience:
Proven track record of successfully growing sales with major hardware customers.
Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in the Home / Hardware Improvement Industry.
Demonstrated understanding of the Home Improvement Industry. Plumbing knowledge is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to differentiate strategy and tactics and apply accordingly.
Demonstrated ability to analyze, negotiate, measure, and achieve results.
In-depth organization and creative skills.
In-depth emotional intelligence: behavioral maturity, demonstrated trust and integrity, high ethical standards, interpersonal competence, and the ability to prevent, reduce and resolve conflict.
In-depth written and oral communication skills; stand-up presentation and training skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
SAP knowledge is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and generate results in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated team and individual leadership skills: decision-making, analytical, team building, and organization skills.
Education and Certification:
Bachelor’s Degree – Business preferred, or equivalent relevant work experience in lieu of degree may be accepted.
