What we're looking for...

The Associate Product Manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to profitably grow assigned product categories and supporting overall business strategy. This includes managing all areas of the marketing mix, building brand equity, being the product expert of assigned categories, and communicating effectively across all functions and levels of the company.

Expectations & Accountabilities...

  • Supports new product development through all cross-functional disciplines using the stage gate process.
  • Conducts Voice of the Customer interviews and integrates end-user requirements within the development process.
  • Supports and executes strategies to manage the overall health of existing product lines and product categories.
  • Analyzes industry, financial, technology and other trends affecting the present and future needs of customers.
  • Understands brand positions and identify opportunities to build brand equity.
  • Develops and maintains product expertise and leadership to both internal and external customers.
  • Researches and develops strategies to enter into new markets and supports M&A integration.
  • Manages overall product life cycle from inception to obsolescence, adapting to plans accordingly.
  • Provides ongoing sales support for product lines through sales training, customer meetings, customer service support, and the development of effective training materials.
  • Able to travel domestically up to 30%.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you'll need to be successful...

  • 1-3 years combined in a product/category management, channel, brand management, and/or sales role.
  • Ability & drive to create innovative and strategic programs and execute.
  • Ability to meet objectives on time and within budget.
  • Proficient in Excel & Microsoft Suite
  • Well-developed interpersonal and organizational skills; detail-oriented, highly motivated and self-starter.
  • Proven capacity to excel in a fast-paced, multifaceted, team environment.
  • Excellent oral, presentation and written communication skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team environment and interact with individuals at all levels in the organization.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Qualifications that will set you apart...

  • Commercial experience with B2B
  • Product or portfolio management experience

Education and Certification

Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required or equivalent experience
